Winter 2026-2027

Individualized training

1

Our training philosophy prioritizes athletes as individuals, so all our athletes receive weekly personalized training plans. Athletes gain access to their TrainingPeaks account prior to their first team practice. Learn more about our training philosophy here.

Competition SChedule

2

We work with athletes to create a competition schedule unique to their goals and ability level. Some competitions are invite only, others require qualification, and some are open. Our tentative competition schedule can be found on Athletic.net.

*Athletes can qualify for Nike Indoor Nationals and New Balance Indoor Nationals during this time, but will compete under their school team at each meet in March.

Team Practices

3

We believe in the Köhler effect and that workouts are made better by community. Our athletes train together almost everyday at either The Garage Gym Chicago (Lincoln Park) or Wilson Track (schedule). Practices begin November 2nd.

*Athletes competing in Sectional or State cross country meets will start practice November 9th and 16th.

Competitive Advantage

4

Our coaches bring their knowledge from collegiate or professional running and their community of nutritionists, sports psychologists, and physical therapists to High South. We regularly tap these connections to support our athlete’s development.

How It Works

We don’t offer open enrollment. This allows us to maintain a small, intentional group where every athlete receives individualized coaching.

Every athlete starts with a short application so we can understand their goals, background, and approach.

From there, we review and follow up with next steps:

  • Direct Acceptance (usually, if our coaches have worked with you before)

  • Introduction Call

  • Or Visiting a Practice

Some athletes are invited into the process, but all athletes complete the same intake because we’re committed to providing a culture of excellence.
